Doubles Seeds: Etheredge/Kerry Young;  Trish Faulkner/Nagelson; Lu Fendig/F. O'Sullivan

No upsets through Thursday...Friday play began in the quarters.

The seeds all reached the semis, though O'Sullivan had to go 3 sets to get past the consistent Sabita Maharaj. 

In the semis, Etheredge beat a determined Nancy Ornstein 62 62 and Nagelson ousted O'Sullivan 61 64.

In the fic, Maharaj takes on Machoian in a rematch of their first round encounter, which was won 61 62 by Maharaj.

Doubles: Faulkner/Nagelson d. Fendig/O'Sullivan 62 64; Etheredge/Young ousted Landorf/Marshall 60 62.

Sunday: Final Results:

Etheredge d. Nagelson 61 64.

3/4:  Frances O'Sullivan won a marathon over Nancy Ornstein 75 67 61

5/6: Peggy Machoian gave Maharaj a much tougher match the second time around, but Maharaj prevailed again 61 46 63.

Doubles:  Etheredge/Young beat Faulkner/Nagelson 61 26 64

3/4:  Fendig/O'Sullivan beat Landorf/Marshall 63 63

5/6: Miles/Payne-Thompson d. Carson/Cook 64 76




Betsy Nagelson is playing her first Grandes Dames tournament. She is playing singles and doubles (with Trish Faulkner).

Ann Etheredge and Kerry Young won the Checket Cup in 2000 (and just about every other doubles event either has entered!)

Lu Fendig and Frances O'Sullivan won the doubles in 1999 and are trying to repeat in 2000.
