The 65's Team (Kitty Godfree Cup)
USA WINS GODFREE CUP!!!!!!!!(click for details
The members of the Godfree Cup Team are Mary Lenore Blair, Nancy Reed, Lee Burling and Mary Boswell. The captain is Ginger Renouard. The Cup will be held in Cape Town, RSA.
The USA is seeded #1 and Great Britain is #2. Fourteen teams are competing and play began Monday March 20th.
The USA Godfree Cup Team won Monday 3-0 against Ireland.
The USA had a tough match against Germany Tuesday. USA won 2-1. Lee Burling lost to Ilsa Michaelis at #1 singles, Blair beat the #2 player and Burling-Reed won the deciding doubles match in three sets.
USA beat SA 2-1 to win the Godfree Cup!!!!!

The members of the 60's team are Doris DeVries, Katie Koontz and Sinclair Bill. The captain is Janet Atkinson. The Marble Cup will be held in Sun City (lucky them), South Africa.

The Althea Gibson Cup: Women's 70: USA WINS!!!!!
The members of the 70's team are: Elaine Mason (who was very instrumental in having the ITF add a Cup for the Women's 70 division), Olga Mahaney, Louise Owens and Louise Russ. The Cup will be held in Cape Town, South Africa. Doris Harrison is the captain for the 2nd year.
The seeds were: 1: Great Britain is 2: USA. There were 8 teams in the competition.
RESULTS:
USA beat Australia on Monday the 20th 3-0.
USA beat Switzerland 3-0 on Wednesday.
USA d. South Africa 2 / 1 on Friday.
