USA was seeded 2 at the Court Cup. The Netherlands was not seeded, and on the second day USA had to play that strong team, indoors, which strongly favored the local players. Elly Appel beat Mary Ginnard at #2 singles. Mary said Elly didn't miss a ball after the first few games, and was hitting winners everywhere. Sherri Bronson also played a big hitter, Nora Blom and dropped her singles match. Bronson and Ginnard had a tough doubles match, and were edged in 3 sets as the Dutch team completed the sweep. The USA beat Gr. Britain and finished 2nd in their flight. They then beat Australia and New Zealand to finish 5th. See a photo of the complete draw below.
