The Bueno Cup team reached the final of the Bueno Cup competition. There Trish Faulkner lost to Heide Orth 64 62. Heide commented that she played very well that day. Margaret Russo then lost in 3 sets to Heidi Eisterleiner, the winner of the world championships in Argentina in 2000. Lil Peltz-Petow and Karen Gallagher then won the doubles in 3 sets.
Germany upset the defending champions, France, in the semifinals.
